Musical Migration is an exploration of music composed by Norwegians who immigrated to the United States over the last two centuries. This nearly-forgotten repertoire will be heard again –from nostalgic folk songs to classical art songs, and popular tunes to solo piano repertoire – performed and guided by soprano Laura Loge and pianist Steven Luksan. This music is a reflection of the composers who left everything behind for an opportunity in a new land, and who brought their music with them, shaped by their struggles, new adventures, and longing for their homeland and distant families. #Crossings200General admission. There is no charge for the concert. Free-will offerings and donations to the Edvard Grieg Society of Minnesota will be taken at the door.
