A native of Vancouver, Canada, Judy Woo has performed in venues including the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Orpheum Theater in Vancouver and at International House New York. As a collaborator she has performed as a member of a piano trio and as a duo with a clarinetist. In performance, she shares unexpected pairings in programming with contemporary composers. A first place winner of the Canadian Music Competitions, her repertoire ranges from Corigliano, Louie and Bach to Schumann, Ligeti and Messiaen.

A recipient of the Johann Strauss Foundation Award, Judy Woo received a full scholarship for study at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, broadening her musical studies to three countries and two continents. As a grantee of the Women in Leadership Award from International House, she was mentored by celebrated violinist Midori, whom inspired her to create access to music for all communities. She was also awarded the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) grant, which lead her to Germany for her doctoral dissertation research.

Judy Woo holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from The Graduate Center, City University of New York, a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Victoria. In addition, she holds Associateship degrees in Performance and Pedagogy from the Victoria Conservatory of Music and an Associateship in Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY) and as Director of the Music of the Music Access Project at Bloomingdale School of Music.
