Celebrate the 36th Museums of the Arroyo Day at The Gamble House! Museums of the Arroyo Day is a community event that annually brings together thousands of Southern Californians to experience the rich history, iconic architecture and arts-driven neighborhoods of the Arroyo Seco area. This year we are also honoring the 100th anniversary Route 66 with a themed storytime, crafts, and other fun activities.Activities at the Gamble House:
• Visit the Gamble House for free self-guided touring with volunteer docents on hand to answer questions.
• Enjoy the kinesthetic pinwheel art installation by local artist Jerolyn Crute Sackman and assemble your own pinwheel.
• Create a road trip-themed post card, vision board, and more with a local artist from Remainders.
• Join Storytime with the Little Old Lady from Pasadena at noon. She will be reading Are We There Yet? The First Road Trip Across the USA by Stacy McAnulty at noon, followed by Route 66 crafts.
• The Gamble House Bookstore will be offering 36-cent postcards in celebration of MOTA Day’s 36th
• Explore the Hummingbird Cantina located in the garden behind the Gamble House Bookstore, where you can spy hummingbirds visiting feeders installed by Pasadena Audubon.
• Enjoy games for all ages setup around the house on the Gamble House lawn.
• Bring a picnic and relax on the Gamble House lawn.
Museums of the Arroyo Day includes The Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home, and the Pasadena Museum of History.
