About this Event
United Voices Choir, with professional orchestra and soloists, under the direction of Dr. Greg Caisley, presents two extraordinary choral masterpieces by visionary composers.
Mozart’s monumental Great Mass in C minor (1783) is a dazzling fusion of styles, drawing on the Baroque brilliance of Bach and Handel, and the dramatic flair of Italian opera. Soaring solo arias, powerful choruses, intricate fugues, and richly textured orchestration create a work that is at once joyful and profoundly spiritual.
Schubert’s Mass in A-flat major (1822) offers a contrasting but equally compelling vision. Deeply poetic and emotionally charged, it weaves soloists and choir into a glowing tapestry of sound. Its bold harmonies and expressive melodies draw us into a world of beauty and spiritual intensity.
Performed by choir, orchestra, and four exceptional soloists, this concert brings together two great Mass settings by composers whose lives were cut tragically short - but nevertheless made an indelible mark on classical music.
More than two centuries later these transcendent works continue to feel fresh, uplifting, and deeply moving. A perfect concert for the Mother's Day weekend!
Tickets: Adults $34; Youth (18 and under) $15
