About this Event
Welcome to the Movement & Kinetic Drawing Workshop — a reflective and creative session inspired by our collaborative single-channel video work The Dance Between Death and Dawn, which will be showcased in a group exhibition in London on Thursday 11th December 2025 (full exhibition details provided upon booking).
The workshop draws on the symbolic themes of the piece, but we welcome you to participate even if you can’t attend the exhibition.
No movement or drawing experience is required — just curiosity and an open mind.
Open to all skill levels, ages 16+.
What to Expect
✨ Introduction
Gentle welcome circle and an overview of the themes behind The Dance Between Death and Dawn, followed by a simple outline of the movement and drawing practices we’ll explore together.
🎭 Warm-Up
Light movement prompts and guided improvisation to help you settle into your body, the space, and the group.
🩰 Guided Movement Studies (Led by Lea)
Explore a range of movement qualities, including:
• Moving from tension into breath-led release
• Finding ease in stillness
• Grounding through weight, balance, and sensation
• Light, playful, child-like movement
• Optional partner/group explorations of support (with contact and non-contact options)
✍️ Intuitive Mark-Making (Led by Charlene)
Drawing warm-ups designed to loosen the hand and body, experiment with different materials, and ease into expressive, intuitive mark-making.
🎨 Kinetic Drawing
A large-scale floor drawing session using the body as the primary tool — combining movement dynamics, drawing materials, and music to merge motion and mark-making in an immersive, expressive process.

🖌️ Materials
All drawing materials supplied (paper, pencils, charcoal, coloured pastels/chalk, erasers, sharpeners). Feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
👕 What to Wear
Comfortable clothing for movement or bring a change of clothes. Bring a water bottle (there are water taps on site for refills).
🍻 After the Workshop
19:00 - Optional gathering at a nearby pub for conversation, reflection, or networking (details of location shared on the day).
