Mounting 101 is an introductory, hands-on session designed to build your confidence in understanding, selecting, and troubleshooting wheelchair mounting solutions using Rehadapt mounting solutions. This session walks you through the foundations of safe and effective mounting, including key principles of positioning, device access, and why a secure, consistently placed mount is essential for successful AAC use. You’ll learn how Link Assistive supports therapists through wheelchair mounting assessments—using our structured wheelchair mounting form, photo guidelines, and collaborative problem solving—so you know exactly what information to gather when prescribing a mount. We’ll explore the components of a wheelchair mount (frame clamps, arms, device plates, and adjustment points), discuss mounting considerations for different wheelchair frames, and highlight common safety and positioning factors.
To bring it all together, the session includes guided practice mounting on a wheelchair, allowing you to handle Rehadapt components, identify suitable frame clamp locations, and see how different mount configurations work in real-world scenarios.
