Mountainside Learning Institute: Medic*tion Supported Recovery

Medic*tion Supported Recovery (MSR) is now part of the landscape of addiction treatment modalities and recovery pathways. This 4 hour workshop presents peer recovery professionals with a modern approach to utilizing prescribed medications in supporting people in their recovery journeys. You begin by exploring potential personal biases that may act as barriers in upholding the values and principles of being an effective recovery coach. Along with traditional therapies and recovery pathways, you also examine the field of harm reduction and alternative therapies. By deepening understanding of the purpose and benefits of each modality, you learn to eliminate stigma, extend your knowledge of recovery resources, and better advocate for clients.

Session Requirements:

Unless noted otherwise, all Mountainside Learning Institute training sessions are conducted online. To maximize the quality of your virtual training, here are some key points to keep in mind:

• We highly recommend using a tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Phones not suggested.
• We use Microsoft Teams. Before the day of the training, it is a good idea to download the Teams application on your electronic device and make sure you have an account set up.
• Throughout the training sessions, please keep your camera on and stay in one place. An unsteady background can be distracting for other participants.

Cancellation policy:

Cancellation is required in writing at least 10 days prior to course start date. Cancellations within the 10-day period will receive a full credit that may be used for a future course. No-Show’s, those registered and confirmed participants who fail to show up, are responsible for full course fees as they are taking a seat of another participant. Once a course has begun, participants are responsible for full course fees, regardless of attendance.
