Begin a fulfilling, new career in addiction treatment and recovery with Mountainside Learning Institute’s Recovery Coach Training program. Training starts with CCAR Recovery Coach Academy’s© 5-day curriculum that equips you with vital skills to successfully mentor those seeking to conquer addiction and attain lasting recovery. Under the expert guidance of Mountainside recovery coach Zachary Cohn you’ll master the art of active listening, pose thought-provoking questions, and unlock your potential to helping others triumph over addiction.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- List the components, core values and guiding principles of recovery
- Build skills to enhance relationships
- Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching
- Discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing stories
- Understand the stages of recovery
- Describe the stages of change and their applications
- Increase awareness of culture, power and privilege
- Address ethical issues regarding boundaries
- Experience wellness planning in recovery
- Practice newly acquired skills
Recovery Coach Academy Course Dates:
- This is a 30-hour course, over five days:
- January 7, 2024, Monday, 9:30am – 4:30pm ET
- January 8, 2024, Tuesday, 9:30am – 4:30pm ET
- January 14, 2024, Wednesday, 9:30am – 4:30pm ET
- January 15, 2024, Monday, 9:30am – 4:30pm ET
- January 21, 2024, Tuesday, 9:30am – 4:30pm ET
- Each day starts at 9:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm, with 3 breaks: morning break, lunch break and afternoon break.
Session Requirements:
Unless noted otherwise, all Mountainside Learning Institute training sessions are conducted online. To maximize the quality of your virtual training, here are some key points to keep in mind:
- We highly recommend using a tablet, laptop or desktop computer. Phones not suggested.
- We use Microsoft Teams. Before the day of the training, it is a good idea to download the Teams application on your electronic device and make sure you have an account set up.
- Throughout the training sessions, please keep your camera on and stay in one place. An unsteady background can be distracting for other participants.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation is required in writing at least 10 days prior to course start date. Cancellations within the 10-day period will receive a full credit that may be used for a future course. No-Show’s, those registered and confirmed participants who fail to show up, are responsible for full course fees as they are taking a seat of another participant. Once a course has begun, participants are responsible for full course fees, regardless of attendance.
