Montgomery County Providers will be prioritized for registration. Out of State/ out of country registraints may be canceled for this series if space is needed for local participaints.
Please plan to attend all days, you cannot attend later days without having taken the previous. This is the same curriculum that was previously offered in 2 full days in person.
Day 1-January 27, 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Day 2- January 28, 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Day 3- January 29, 12:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
This course is highly interactive. You will need to be able to enter break out rooms and cameras are requested to be on so instructors are able to observe skills practice.
Motivational Interviewing Fundamentals expands on the content provided in “How to Engage for Change” and takes a brief look at focusing on a change target after engagement has begun. Some items from “How to Engage for Change” are repeated in this session such as ambivalence and OARS, but given much more attention and opportunities to apply and practice within the training. Fundamentals is ideal for those who want more thorough explanations of concepts and opportunities to gain a much deeper understanding of Engagement and Focusing skills. It may be especially helpful for those working with individuals likely to be very reluctant to make changes and for those whose main job role is to help others make or maintain some sort of change.
CEUs:
Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to offer continuing education credit hours to Counselors and Social Workers (Provider #RCS111304) and has approved this training for 11 hours of Continuing Education.
Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by the the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to offer continuing education hours to Chemical Dependency Counselors and Prevention Professionals (Provider #50-17863) and has approved this training for 11 hour of CEUs (C2, P3).
The Ohio Board of Nursing will accept a continuing education activity that has been approved by a board or an agency that regulates a health care profession or related discipline in Ohio including the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Information regarding continuing education requirements is available on the OBN website here.
Other licensing boards may also accept these hours, however it is the attendee’s responsibility to establish this prior to attending.
In order to ethically provide CEUs, we use a platform that generates attendance time reports. We must have a total time in attendance for each participant in order to issue CEUs and the CEUs issued are based on the total amount of time accumulated between the time an attendee joins and the time the attendee logs off. We are ethically bound to report the accumulated amount of time a participant attended, therefore we cannot issue CEUs to:
· Individuals sharing a monitor, computer, and/or login
· Individuals joining by audio phone only
· Those who do not ensure their name in the participant list is their full name as it appears in their registration
CEUs will be adjusted to the nearest quarter hour to reflect the amount of time present for sessions over 60 minutes in length.
By registering and attending this session, you acknowledge and agree that your photo may be taken and used by Montgomery County ADAMHS. If you do not agree to have your photo used, you must contact the organizer prior to the class.
