About this Event

Monthly Arts Therapy Circle

You are warmly invited to our monthly arts therapy group designed to help you reconnect with yourself and others through creative expression, mindful art making and shared reflection. This group offers a calm, supportive environment where art becomes a language for emotions that are sometimes hard to put into words.

Each monthly session draws from a thoughtfully developed arts therapy framework that integrates emotional awareness, self-expression and personal insight. No artistic experience is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to explore.

What to Expect

Every session includes:

  • A grounding exercise to get back in touch with yourself and the present moment.
  • A guided art-making experience using accessible materials such as collage, painting, pastels, watercolours and clay.
  • Time for reflection and optional sharing, supported with care and respect.
  • Art work to take home at the end of the session.

The focus is not on creating “beautiful” art, but on experiencing the process, listening to what emerges and allowing meaning to unfold naturally.

Monthly Themes

Sessions rotate through themes inspired by evidence-informed arts therapy practices, including:

  • Exploring and expressing emotions safely
  • Balancing vulnerability and strength
  • Understanding inner dialogue and self-image
  • Developing self-soothing and emotional regulation skills
  • Strengthening connection with yourself and with others

Each month stands alone, so you are welcome to attend one session or return regularly to deepen your journey.

Why Arts Therapy?

Art-making engages the senses and invites reflection in a gentle, non-verbal way. It can support:

  • Emotional awareness and regulation
  • A more compassionate relationship with yourself
  • Insight into patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours
  • Creative problem-solving and resilience

This group is especially well-suited for those who value depth, creativity and personal growth in a supportive community setting.

Who This Is For

  • Adults seeking a nurturing space for self-exploration and community support
  • Those curious about arts therapy or expressive practices
  • Anyone wanting to slow down, reflect and reconnect

No prior art experience is required. All materials are provided.

Come as you are. Leave with a little more clarity, softness and connection than when you arrived.

Facilitated With Care

Hosted by Emily (she/them) (PGDip, BA, Msc) an arts therapist with experience working in the NHS and non-profits, supporting people predominantly from the Global Majority, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent individuals, with 8 years of experience running therapeutic art groups.
