Misogyny Matters: Fawcett Conference 2026
From public services to online harm: exploring bold campaigns, reforms and policies that tackle misogyny and sexism and resist the rollback of women’s rights.
In a polarised political climate that is increasingly hostile to women’s rights, misogyny is not only persistent but also evolving. From high-profile cases of male power and impunity to misogyny within policing, and the spread of online abuse amplified by new technologies and platforms, women are facing coordinated and systemic harm.
Many campaigners warn that progress on women’s rights is under threat. While some commentators still question whether it is truly on the rise, the urgent question for all of us is: what can we do together to challenge it?
We know things can feel very difficult. It is hard to get through a week without stories and evidence of the persistent and devastating impact of sexism and misogyny on women’s and girls’ lives. We want to bring together some of the UK’s leading campaigners and advocates who are working to tackle it. People are fighting back and working tirelessly to protect progress – let's talk about it.
