
About this Event
Learn to simplify your art in a sophisticated and minimalistic style using organic textures and the magic of "intentional constraint."
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
- simplify your composition
- make good use of your negative space
- work with dramatic shapes
- add texture while keeping things simple
- work with a limited palette of color
Students will walk away with a few 8x8 paintings with lots of texture and visual interest, as well as a new understanding of what makes up the Minimalism art style.
Supply List:
- three 8x8 wood panels or canvas panels (a rigid surface)
- your acrylic painting gear
- a few drawing materials (i.e. charcoal, Derwent Inktense pencils, Neocolor II crayons, etc.)
- 1-2 sheets of handmade papers, roughly in size 20x30
- Matte Gel medium
- marble powder
- palette paper
- quality paper towels like Viva or Blue Shop Towel or cotton rags
