🧑‍🔬 Mini Makers Lab

Join us for a Mini Makers Lab for your 3-7 year olds at Recess! We will explore the world of engineering, force and motion, and buoyancy with a literacy focused STEM workshop. Students will get the chance to explore these different concepts that catch their interest. This workshop will be hands-on, engaging, fun, and safe.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Age: geared towards ages 2-8

This workshop will start with diving into early literacy by reading “Be a Maker” by Katey Howes. This book explores all the possibilities of how our little ones can freely express creativity through building, designing, and creating.

The workshop will then go into different tinkering and exploring stations, each one catered to meet the unique interests and curiosities of your little ones.

Stations include:

🧩Tinker station with all sorts of materials to explore and build with (think pipe cleaners, cardboard, googly eyes, and more). Let your creativity run wild.
💦 Sink or float station- explore concepts that are relatable, fun, and a little splashy. Can you guess if it will sink or float?
🚗 Force and motion with ramps and rolling objects. What makes it go faster?
📖 Literacy and drawing station- read books and explore interactive and hands-on books about STEM. Think computer engineering and quantum physics for little ones.

Parents have the option to come and participate in the class, or drop their little one and wait in the hallway for some relaxing alone time. Note: parents need to stay in the facility, but they do not need to stay in the room.

Note: Our classes are free for now! We do plan to introduce a fee in the future, but for now, we just hope you'll join us and have a great time. Donations are always welcome, but never expected. Your presence is what matters most!
