About this Event

🎊 Mini Folk Presents : Chinese New Year Ribbon Dance & Craft Celebration

A joyful Chinese New Year gathering for families, toddlers, parents, carers and curious grown-ups alike.

Join us at Jamboree for a cosy, colourful afternoon of music, movement and making, celebrating the Lunar New Year together. Expect flowing ribbons, playful dancing, hands-on crafts and plenty of space for children to explore while adults join in or soak up the atmosphere.

Ribbon Dance Workshop
Led by acclaimed Chinese dancer and teacher Lucia Tong, this interactive session invites children and adults to move together through ribbon dancing inspired by Chinese New Year traditions. Lucia gently weaves storytelling into movement, encouraging children to draw on their own festival experiences and the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, turning them into dance.

Parents are very welcome to take part too , Lucia has a wonderful way of making shared movement feel relaxed, joyful and fun for everyone.

Craft Time
Celebrate the Lunar New Year at our craft table hosted by Mini Folk organiser Dila V. Make paper fans, festive decorations and Year of the Horse inspired crafts, suitable for all ages and abilities. All materials provided.

🌱 Why Mini Folk?

We believe great live events should be for everyone.

No more missing out because of bedtime.
No more music & events that’s only “for kids” or “for adults.”
