About this Event
Women-only
This six-week mindful movement programme offers a supportive, non-judgemental space for women to reconnect with their bodies, regulate the nervous system, and release emotional tension through mindful movement, breathwork and joyful dance.
Designed to support women through changing life stages, including perimenopause, early menopause and menopause, the programme gently encourages awareness of fluctuating energy levels, emotional patterns and the body’s natural rhythms. Rather than pushing or performing, participants are invited to listen, respond and move in ways that feel supportive on each particular day.
Sessions are accessible and adaptable for all abilities. Simple props such as scarves and cushions are used to support expression, play and ease of movement, creating a space where everyone can participate comfortably.
This programme is about slowing down, tuning in, and rebuilding trust in the body, especially during times of stress, transition or hormonal change.
Each session gently weaves together:
- Breath-led grounding and sensory awareness to support nervous system regulation
- Mindful movement and expressive dance that adapts to how the body feels in the moment
- Thematic exploration of emotions often heightened during stress, hormonal shifts and life transitions
- Time to integrate, reflect and share, supporting connection, self-compassion and calm
Participants are always encouraged to move at their own pace and honour their energy, with choice and rest woven throughout. Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions, but can drop-in to individual sessions as well.

Session Themes
Week 1: Taking Up Space
Presence, confidence and embodied boundaries
Exploring what it means to feel grounded and present in the body, even when confidence fluctuates. Using animal-inspired metaphors and gentle movement to embody stability, strength and self-trust without forcing energy.
Week 2: Reconnecting with Joy
Playfulness, lightness and ease
Inviting moments of joy and laughter through movement, rhythm and breath. This session supports women in reconnecting with pleasure and play, especially during phases when life feels heavy or demanding.
Week 3: Releasing What's Held
Anger, frustration and emotional release
A safe, supported space to acknowledge and release emotions that often build up during stress, exhaustion or hormonal change. Using dynamic yet accessible movement and props to express and discharge held tension.
Week 4: Moving Through Fear
Nervous system awareness and inner courage
Exploring common stress responses such as fight, flight and freeze, and how they show up in the body. Through mindful movement and breathwork, participants learn gentle ways to support themselves during anxious or overwhelming moments.
Week 5: Restoring Calm
Stillness, rest and nervous system repair
Slowing down through breath-led movement, softness and guided mindfulness. This session supports rest, emotional settling and reconnection with the body’s need for pause, particularly helpful for sleep challenges and low-energy phases.
Week 6: Softness, Connection and Appreciation
Self-compassion, beauty and integration
A nurturing closing session focused on gentleness, gratitude and embodied appreciation for the body as it is. Participants are invited to integrate what they’ve learned and leave with simple practices they can continue beyond the programme.

How to contribute
At The Bridge, we’re all about working together and building meaningful partnerships with the women in our community. We believe that everyone has something valuable to offer, and that means everyone has a role in shaping our work—because The Bridge belongs to all of us. We celebrate each person’s unique strengths and contributions, creating opportunities for everyone to get involved in a way that feels right for them.
Whether you give your time, skills, or financial support, every contribution means we’re working together to make The Bridge the space we want it to be.
One way to support our work is through our pay-what-you-can model, which ensures that our activities and events are accessible to all while allowing space for contributions to go towards helping us sustain what we do. Whatever you choose to give, it all makes a difference.
Want to get involved and contribute in other ways? We’d love to hear from you!
