This is a 2 day accredited, immersive experience that allows us to step into greater awareness around the most common mental illnesses in Australia.
Mental illness is extremely common but there is poor understanding of its causes and management and much stigma still exists in our communities.
As a result many very curable mental illnesses go unmanaged and cause unnecessary suffering for the person who is unwell and their network.
This course has the capacity to transform the way we communicate with and support others.
Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience mental illness. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance.
Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however most do not cover mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches people the skills to help someone who they're concerned about.
Mental Health First Aid training is now seen to be the gold standard in professional development for everyone in the holistic health, wellness, and community space.
If you're a teacher of any kind (e.g. school teacher, meditation or yoga teacher) therapist, beauty therapist, holistic health practitioner, community leader, work in any type of organisation / team, or have witnessed close family or friends suffer mental health symptoms, Mental Health First Aid accreditation is for you.
WHEN:
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May,
12:30 - 3pm each date
(prerequisite online study required before joining these live training sessions)
WHERE:
Yoga Garage, Belair community centre, 1 Burnell drive BELAIR
