About this Event
Join Anna Tuhus for this workshop that will explore use of six basic hand sewing stitches, using them to create personal motifs and patterns, learning darning, mending and patchwork techniques for textile and garment repairs.
Participants are encouraged to bring any belongings in need of repair, to learn new ways of creative mending. Such as, jeans and denim, socks and tights, knitwear, etc.
About Anna Tuhus
Anna Tuhus is an artist and educator with expertise in narrative and textiles, working with poetry and freestyle embroidery. With experience teaching sewing and mending, jewellery-making and fashion in creative learning, the museum sector, and formal and community education, her teaching evolves from material-based creative research methods and experimental processes.
