At the same time, this evening presents an inspiring tribute to Palestinian art and culture, where music, poetry, and visual art come together to honor the past, embrace the present, and share a vision of hope for the future.
The concert is a testament to the transformative power of artistic expression to heal, inspire, and connect. Featuring the renowned Danish-Palestinian composer and oud player Bilal Irshed and his ensemble, the evening will showcase their exceptional ability to blend the rich traditions of Arabic music with innovative harmonies. Through the oud—a symbol of cultural history spanning over 3,000 years—Bilal bridges the past and present, weaving stories that resonate deeply with global audiences.
The ensemble will present both original compositions and new interpretations of traditional pieces and songs, featuring the gifted Palestinian singer Dana Al Shihaby. In addition to the music, the evening will include a poetry recital in both Arabic and Danish, as well as a screening of visual art created especially for this event by Wael Toubaji, a talented Syrian artist whose work beautifully complements the themes of resilience and cultural identity.
