About this Event
A Customization Workshop + Immersive Art Experience at Burton Denver
📍 Burton Flagship Store
đź—“ Thursday, May 28, 2026
⏰ 4–7 PM
Limited to 20 Participants
PURCHASE REQUIRED: Participation in the workshop is free. While we’ve put together an extremely special and fully curated event experience, participants will be asked to purchase a Burton item of their choice in-store to customize and take home during the workshop. We’ll primarily be focusing on backpacks, t-shirts, hoodies, and hats, but participants are welcome to choose any item they’d like.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
At this workshop, you will create a completely custom wearable piece using personal photographs, heat transfer techniques, paint, mixed media, stencils, textures, and hardware.
Think customized hats, hoodies, tees, backpacks, and pieces that feel personal, expressive, nostalgic, and alive.
You’ll choose a soft good item from Burton’s spring/summer collection, bring a meaningful digital photo, and spend the evening transforming it with guidance from the artists throughout the process.
No experience needed. This is about experimenting, making something with your hands, telling stories, and creating something that becomes a marker of this moment in time.

Every detail of this event is being really thoughtfully curated.
From the lighting, textures, music, drinks, and activations, to the artists, makers, and local businesses involved, the goal is for the night to feel like stepping inside a living art piece while creating your own within it.
This is not a lecture or a traditional craft workshop.
It’s somewhere between a conversation pit, an immersive art installation, and a creative release.
The whole evening is centered around the idea of Melt.
Mud season.
The transition from winter into spring and summer.
That feeling when the world softens a little and people start coming back outside again.
The trips we start planning.
The people we reconnect with.
The music we roll the windows down to.
The feeling of movement returning to our bodies.
Everything starts becoming a little more vibrant again.
Including us.
The workshop will take place on the rooftop at golden hour overlooking the city, creating an environment that feels playful, immersive, inspiring, and alive.
This is the second workshop hosted by Neon Katie and Kendall Rose Kippley in collaboration with Burton, with the goal of making the flagship store a place for our community to gather, create, and make new memories together while doing something fun.
And honestly, you might learn a few things too.
WHAT MAKES YOU MELT?
We’ll be exploring:
✶ climate + emotion
✶ memory + nostalgia
✶ recreation + identity
✶ holding on vs. letting go
✶ what brings people together during times of change
The goal is to leave with more than just a customized item.
We want people to leave feeling inspired, creatively opened up, connected, and reminded of what makes them feel alive.
