People with complex needs, including people with intellectual disability, autism, and behavioral health challenges, continue to experience health disparities, barriers to accessing healthcare and many other much needed services that promote health and wellness, independence, and full access to all that society has to offer. In addition, health and human services providers are experiencing dramatic workforce challenges and are struggling to attract and retain employees in all areas, from direct care workers to primary care and behavioral health providers. However, innovative solutions and approaches abound which aim to address disparities and challenges. This edition of the Social Innovations Journal highlights, among other topics, innovative strategies for addressing disparities in access to care and health outcomes for people with intellectual disability and autism, regional innovations in enhancing mental health systems, and a global approach to creating a community of practice to improve care for people with disabilities.
Join our expert panelists on December 12th from 3:30pm - 5pm who will share their decades of expertise in the fields of mental health, healthcare and autism. You will hear details about challenges confronting the health and human services sector, and the innovative programmatic and policy solutions which can improve the lives not only of people with complex social and healthcare needs, but also the workforce which supports them.
