WHAT HAPPENS AT A MEDITATION DAY RETREAT?
We take a pause, slow down and with kind curiosity turn towards ourselves and our experience and so the exploration begins…
• There will be various types of guided non-dual and mindfulness based meditation in the form of sitting and walking meditation.
• Interspersed are some partner and group connection exercises, the occasional poem and a space for Q & A, dialoguing and delving deeper.
• Each retreat has a specific theme with the meditations and connection exercises relating to the theme.
• We’ll have a buffet lunch together, with everyone invited to bring a little something along to share with the group.

THE THEME...
Is ‘Into The Heart Of Being’.
We’ll invite the mind to slow down, rest and encourage it to gently topple into the very heart of your being.
Not being this or that but discovering the unbounded heart and love that you truly are.
Allowing all to melt away as you fall deep into the heart’s timeless embrace, disappearing into its depth, mystery and beauty!
The day will come to a close with Emma Read and Ananta of Kirtan Yoga, Plymouth leading a Kirtan.
Kirtan is a devotional heart opening practise that comes from the Bhakti Yoga Tradition.
Together we’ll chant several simple and easy to learn mantras either in Sanskrit or English accompanied by the beautiful sounds of the harmonium and percussion.
There is not a need to be able to sing or to have any prior knowledge or experience.
Kirtan is about creating connection with the heart.

WHO IS THIS RETREAT FOR?
The curious ones, the inner-explorers, those who are sincere and keen to engage in meditation, self-enquiry and inner work.
It matters not whether you are new to meditation it is the attitude and willingness to explore your experience that is of most value.
Chairs are available to sit on. If you wish to sit on the floor please bring along a Yoga mat and cushion.

ABOUT YOUR HOST
Hi, I’m David… I‘ve been meditating since the mid 1990's. My career as a facilitator, teacher and coach started more than thirty years ago, initially in sport and fitness and now for the last ten years in wellbeing, supporting individuals, hosting groups, courses and retreats.
I am a regular speaker at wellbeing festivals, universities, community groups and organisations, a teacher and mentor for The Holistic Healing College teaching the Mindfulness module on their Spiritual Counselling diploma and in 2022 I published my first book of mindful poetry ‘Finding Peace In The Very Heart Of Life’.
My training in the therapeutic world has been extensive studying both Eastern and Western traditions however, I feel it is through finding peace in the most difficult times of my life that enables me to reach and support others the most.
For a number of years I would spend the English winters in India immersing myself in meditation, contemplation and Satsang, exploring the non-dual essence of reality with various modern day mystics and sages.
