Dr. Marqueta Abraham DNP, APN, PMHNP-BC


Event Photos

Dr. Marqueta Abraham is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has shown tremendous care and perseverance in the health field. She believes that patient care should be a provider's priority. Her specialization is the entire lifespan of mental health with special focus on forensic and acute psychotic patients. In 2018, she was nominated as a Healthcare Hero with the Memphis Business Journal. In 2021 she received Inspire Award from the University of Tennessee at Martin. In December 2021, she was interviewed by Contraceptive Technology Update discussing sexually transmitted infections. In 2025, featured in Memphis Voyager and Expert commentor on POPSUGAR article on "Crashing Out in Relationships". In 2026 named the Remarkable Woman for Memphis, TN with Nexstar and WREG. She volunteers her time with speaking engagements with teenagers about mental health most recently in Jackson, TN. 1 / 2 She went into health care because of her father and mother. Her father was a Veteran who served post-Korean War — a very hardworking man who motivated her to push forward to this career. Her loving mother was an educational assistant who always pushed her to do what she wanted. That meant helping people all her life, so she did just that and loved it to the fullest. Dr. Abraham is published in the Journal of Black Nurses Association Summer/Fall 2021 publication her article is called STD Education Among African American Women: An Educational Improvement Initiative and Shared Governance: A Practical Approach to Transforming Interprofessional Healthcare, Fourth Edition as a contributor. She is a proud alumnus of both University of Tennessee at Martin and Health Science Center. She holds a doctoral degree from Abilene Christian University and a postgraduate degree in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from Union University. She matriculated as an Entrepreneur Nurse Practitioner Program fellow from Duke University sponsored by Johnson and Johnson. This is where she learned the foundation to create a community-based practice. And she is the owner and sole psychiatric nurse practitioner at CLR Mind Psychiatry located in the heart of Whitehaven. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Christian Brothers University and Missouri Baptist College. Dr. Abraham dedicates her life work to serving others.
