Maud the Moth is the solo project of Spanish-born and Scotland-based pianist, singer and songwriter Amaya López-Carromero. Maud the Moth serves as Amaya’s alter ego: a séance-like conduit through which to process personal life experiences, and in particular themes of rootlessness, identity and trauma. Stylistically, Maud the moth uses her classical training as a platform upon which her eclectic songwriting and cathartic solo live performances rest. Maud the moth has also been invited to perform as guest artist by Chelsea Wolfe, Anna von Hausswolf, Kayo Dot, Dvne and Helen Money amongst other artists. Maud the moth released her fourth full-length Album The Distaff in early 2025.
