Join us for a night of original modern jazz with some of Perth's finest musicians. Expect to hear lush horn textures and some brand new music written in the mountains of Banff, Canada.Matt Smith is a freelance trumpet player/composer from Perth, Western Australia. Some of Matt’s career highlights include playing alongside the Village Vanguard Orchestra in a workshop at Billboard Records in Tokyo (2016), touring Australia with Drapht and the Junkadelic Brass Band (2016), recording with the Mace Francis Orchestra on the album Love Songs I Love (2017) and No Postcode (2024). In 2023 he released his debut album ‘Driftwood’ at the Perth International Jazz Festival. In September Matt will be moving to London to pursue a Master's of Music at the Guidhall School of Music and Drama.
