The pressure on the education system has never been higher, with unprecedented levels of need, spiraling costs and increasing challenges around the recruitment and retention of staff.

So how will trusts best respond to these challenges and more as we head towards 2030?


MATS 2023 is a conference designed specifically for MAT and trust leaders to discuss how you can meet these challenges head on and ensure that your trust is at the forefront of delivering the best education for your students in 2030 and beyond.

    Speakers at MATs 2030:
    Richard Gerver
    Richard is one of the most influential experts on change and human leadership in the world. He is the author of four renowned books, drawing on his experience as an educator and consultant to business and organisations.
    Leora Cruddas
    Leora is the founding Chief Executive of the Confederation of School Trusts – the national organisation and sector body for school trusts in England. She has advised successive governments and sits on several Department for Education advisory bodies.
    Nick MacKenzie
    Recognised as a leading expert in education by The Legal 500 and Chambers for over 10 years, Nick specialises in corporate and governance advice in the education sector. Nick works with boards and executive teams to help them navigate the landscape together with helping them spot and take opportunities.
    Stephen Mitchell
    An experienced Trust CEO, CFO, and COO, Stephen has a wide breadth of experience across the sector.His MBA research into traits which help MATs perform effectively is the basis for some doctoral research into understanding how successful MATs of the future will structure themselves.
    Venue:
    The event will take place at the historic London Docklands Museum in their Riverside room; a stunning space in a grade 1 listed building, with a private terrace for guests overlooking Canary Wharf.
    The venue is easily accessible from the Underground, on the Elizabeth or Jubilee Lines and there are ample options for accommodation within walking distance, for those attending from further afield:
