Master Your Painting
In this 2-day weekend workshop, participants will follow along with a demo and talk from Lorri about getting a good composition and how using limited colours can create a strong painting!
*Participants are able to join for just the Saturday session or for the full weekend workshop.
During the workshop, you will:
- Students will learn how to use a scene as a source of inspiration to create a strong painting.
- They will also learn which colours of paint go together and how make them work on a painting.
Dates: Saturday & Sunday, March 14 & 15th | 2026

- Saturday: 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM
- Full Weekend: 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Cost:
- Saturday Only: $100 + GST | Fees
- Full Weekend: $175 + GST | Fees
Audience: 18+
Materials Provided:
- Two handouts and a colour wheel for each student
Please Bring:
- 2 canvases 12x18
- Assorted nylon brushes
- Disposable paper pallet
- Water container for cleaning brushes
- Acrylic paints, Titanium white, Phthalo Blue (red shade), Quinacridone Magenta, Cadmium Red and Cadmium Yellow
- Gloss glazing liquid
- A ruler
- A couple of photo references
If you are unable to get any of these colours, your instructor will likely have some to share.
About the instructor:
Lorri loves being an artist. She has been painting with acrylics for over 40 years. Lorri has a BFA from U of C and AFCA status with the Federation of Canadian Artists. She has taught art to people aged 8 to 80. Lorri loves seeing a student's eyes light when they learn about art.
