FDS Trio was born when New York bassist Sean Play Nice arrived in Barcelona and got together with drummer Frank Durand and guitarist Diego Cebollero - whom he had met in New York - for a rehearsal. From this meeting a group emerged that unites Durand's experience in Cuban rhythmic music and jazz, Nice's attachment to hip hop and electronic music, and Cebollero's mastery of different styles - reggae, funk, jazz, neo-soul and traditional Argentinean music. Together they form a high-flying artistic trident, characterised by working on stimulating collective improvisations that contrast with ethereal sounds and, at the same time, with danceable music. Each FDS concert is unique, spontaneous and unrepeatable. Among their references: Miles Davis, Madlib and Herbie Hancock. Many of FDS's compositions pay tribute to legendary groups and works from the 60s and 70s, such as 'Mwadishi' (Hancock) and the Mahavishu Orchestra.
And after FDS Trio's performance stay a little longer to enjoy Mara Valenzuela's dj set, which will make you travel through different genres of music.
