Mark Billy continues to captivate audiences with his Verdi baritone voice and illuminate with his words about Indigenous culture. On September the 27th Mr. Billy, baritone of Choctaw ancestry, will present a concert that will explore the intersection of two worlds- that of opera singing and that of Indigenous music and language. He will speak on current social issues that face First Americans today and enchant you with his singing and playing of multiple instruments. The concert will feature standard operatic and song literature as well as works by many living, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ composers as well as multiple Indigenous languages including his own tribe’s language- Choctaw.
