Description:
Join us for a 2 part class. Class 1 will occur: Wednesday, March 5, 2024 at 11am-2pm. Class 2 will occur: Wednesday, March 12th at 11am-2pm. Each class is 3 hours long and on two different days (so 6 hours total for the whole class) Learn conflict resolution and mediation theories, processes, and life applications including but not limited to:
-How do different people deal with conflict? How do we deal with it personally? How does knowing how other people deal with conflict affect how we work with them or help resolve group conflicts?
-What is mediation?
-How does mediation relate to litigation or the other forms of alternative dispute resolution (negotiation and arbitration)?
-When I’m in a role as mediator at work (or at home), what steps can I take to set the stage for resolution to occur? What does a formal mediation with all the steps look like?
-Practice how to approach some “sample conflicts.”

Presenter Bio:
Michael is the Owner & Attorney of Narwhal Nonprofit Consulting, a law firm that helps nonprofits and other community organizations with their legal and consulting needs. He recently ran for Congress in Oregon's 3rd Congressional District and is the Founder and Past Owner/Principal Attorney of Rational Unicorn Legal Services. He is a dedicated community advocate, businessman, and attorney who believes that business, community, and economic justice all go hand in hand.
