About this Event
On Monday 22 June, 12-6PM (the day before the NIME conference begins) the Music Theranostic Lab will host a MARC Open Day at Kingโs College London. The day will feature Distinguished Lectures by Professor Anna Huang (MIT) and Professor Roger Dannenberg (Carnegie Mellon University), an open rehearsal of Ravelโs Trio and Schubert Op.100 with performer heart-breath visualisations, presentations/performances by students from MIT and KCL, and general socialising.
Attendance at the MARC Open Day is free and open to all. Spaces are limited, so all attendees will need to register for the Open Day. The Open Day is a drop-in event. Registered attendees are welcome to attend for part or all of 12-6pm. During that time, we expect to have roughly two phases of demos (12-2pm and 3-6pm) in two different locations on either side of Waterloo Bridge.
12-2PM: The live performance will take place at the James Clerk Maxwell Building (part of the KCL Waterloo Campus, 57 Waterloo Rd, London SE1 8WA). The easiest access on public transport is by tube to Waterloo station. There will be a light lunch provided following the live performance and time to mingle and network.
2:30-6PM: The MARC Distinguished Lectures will be held in St Davidโs Room (King's Building, KCL Strand Campus, Strand, London WC2R 2LS). The easiest access on public transport is by tube to Temple station. There will be a break with reception for attendees.
