About this Event
Manic Dizzy Dream Girls: Clay Night
ABOUT OUR WORKSHOPS
Manic Dizzy Dream Girls is a female-only, survivor-led creative workshop where we turn chaotic, dizzy thoughts into colorful squiggly earrings you can actually wear. This evening is for dream girls: kind-hearted allies and survivors of SA who want to sit together, make art, and remember we are more than our worst nightmares.
You’ll be gently guided through working with polymer clay—from conditioning and rolling coils, to using unique-to-the-event Squiggly Therapy templates, to assembling your own earrings. You’ll leave with two pairs of handmade earrings and a deeper sense that what’s been spinning in your mind can live somewhere sweeter: in color, curve, and community.
This workshop is inspired by lived experience with PTSD and sexual assault survival, but it is a creative, peer-support space—not professional therapy or a substitute for mental health treatment.
OVERVIEW
Over about 2–2.5 hours, we will:
- Warm up with a brief grounding exercise and story behind Manic Dizzy Dream Girls x Squiggly Therapy.
- Learn the basics of working with polymer clay (conditioning, rolling coils, forming squiggles).
- Use printed squiggly templates with quiet mantras to guide your own designs or try your hands and emotions at the Manic Dizzy Dream Girl Method.
- While our earrings bake, we hold space for gentle conversation, laughter, and sisterhood.
- After our coils cool, assemble your jewelry using simple tools and findings (hooks, posts, and backs).
No experience is needed. If you can roll a little line of clay between your hands, you can do this!
