About this Event
Manchester Scene Stories – Live Interview & Poetry with Tammy Jayne
Join author and interviewer Paul Banks for a special Manchester Scene Stories live event featuring writer and poet Tammy Jayne.
Tammy wrote the powerful closing chapter of Paul’s first book, a poem titled Take Me Back, which captures the emotion, rebellion and spirit of the late 80s and early 90s rave era.
The poem reflects on the energy of the dancefloor, the rise of house music and rave culture, and the sense of unity many people experienced during that time in clubs like The Haçienda and across the North of England.
During the evening, Paul will interview Tammy about the inspiration behind the poem, her memories of the scene, and what those years meant to a generation who found freedom and connection through music.
To close the event, Tammy will perform a live reading of Take Me Back, bringing the words and atmosphere of that era to life.
Manchester Scene Stories live events are intimate evenings celebrating the people, memories and culture that shaped Manchester’s music scene.
If you were there, it will take you back.
If you weren’t, it’s a chance to experience the story of that extraordinary time.
This is a free event but spaces are limited. Please only book a ticket if you genuinely plan to attend, as seating is limited and we want to make sure everyone who wants to come has the opportunity.
