Making Movies is a band that makes American music with an asterisk: because Making Movies’ sound encompasses the entirety of the Americas. It’s through this broader perspective that Making Movies crunches classic rock into Latin American rhythms — African-derived percussion and styles like rumba, merengue, mambo and cumbia — in a way that feels oddly familiar, yet delivers the invigorating chills of hearing something singularly special.
Over the course of their career, the quartet has turned heads as a Tiny Desk newcomer (with "A La Deriva"), a voice for immigrant rights (with "I Am Another You" which reached #3 on Billboard's Latin Pop Album chart), and as a co-writer alongside salsa icon Rubén Blades (with Latin GRAMMY nominated song "No Te Calles”).
Making Movies has toured extensively, appearing with the likes of Arcade Fire, Rubén Blades, Los Lobos, Hurray For the Riff Raff, Bomba Estereo, Galactic, Flor De Toloache, and Thievery Corporation. The band's fourth album will be released summer 2022 on L.A.-based label Cósmica Artists.
Pachyderm

Psychedelic rockers Pachyderm have a sound that cannot be pinned down, forged through years of friendship and falling down the creative rabbit hole. The band started out as a few teenagers learning cover songs in their parents’ basements. As they played local shows in their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA they discovered a community of young artists and an enduring ethos: free music, DIY gigs, spontaneous live performances, and the desire to create a shared experience with their audience. The band’s 2016 debut album LIVE AT THE FILLMORE, recorded just before the members graduated from high school, showcased growing songwriting ambitions and the band’s knack for spaced-out sounds on a bedroom budget. Continuing to create independent of a record label, 2018’s VERGE honed in on indie-pop warmth and mellow psychedelia album guitarist/singer Ethan Mackowick described as “soothing tunes for aching ears.” After a series of archival live show releases, Pachyderm has returned, now based out of Philadelphia, with a new studio LP entitled WILDHONEY. The eight songs on WILD HONEY infuse lyrics about love and heartbreak with an earthy, 70s-influenced twang and texture.

Original members Max Klemmer and Ethan Mackowick will be joined by Whit Lane (of Divvine) and Roman Conde (of Delay 77 and King Puzzle).
