About this Event
Iron Gall Ink, made from commonplace oak galls, iron, and tree sap, was the ubiquitous and indelible European writing ink for centuries. Join Natalie Stopka in a live online demonstration of ink making, during which we’ll discuss the particularly entrancing visual and chemical properties of this richly-colored writing and drawing medium. Natalie’s recipes, foraging guidelines, and alternate ingredients will be shared. Q+A will follow the presentation.
This demonstration will be conducted live as a Zoom Webinar. Participants tune in without video or sound keeping all focus on the artist’s demonstration. Participants can communicate through the chat and submit questions through the Q&A feature during the live event.
Participants will receive an email from Peters Valley at least 48 hours prior with a link and a password. Only registered participants will be admitted.
Peters Valley records online programs and shares them with registered participants as a non-downloadable link for one month following the live event.
