Make Trax with Kat
Kat provides one‑to‑one support to help young people (16–29) build confidence, explore career options, and take practical steps toward education, training, volunteering, or work.
Who is it for?
Barnardo’s Make Trax provides information, guidance and support for young people aged 16-29 who are not currently in paid employment or education.
Where?
Barnardo’s Make Trax can work with young people living in Brighton & Hove, or Crawley. Our friendly coaches can meet you in community locations like libraries, youth hubs or cafés (the drinks are on us!). We can also provide support via telephone, video calls and email if you prefer this.
Activities
- Exploring what you want from your future and possible career options
- Supporting you to find and apply to a suitable college, apprenticeship, or training provider
- Job-searching using websites such as Indeed
- Accessing online courses to boost your employability
- Building confidence, motivation, and social skills
- Get access to creative activities to engage and inspire
- Employability skills like CV writing, interview prep, support through volunteering or work placements
- Helping you get involved with volunteering in your local community
- Signposting you to other services that can help you overcome your individual barriers (e.g. housing issues, claiming benefits, substance misuse, emotional and mental health difficulties)
- You may be eligible for financial help to support you with any additional barriers you may be facing, such as access to technology, buying interview clothes, transport costs, etc.
Drop in for a chat between 11:00 and 13:00, stay for as long or as little suits you!
