About this Event
Description
Join us at The Skript Kitchen for a warm and hands on cooking experience celebrating one of Mexico’s most iconic traditional dishes: tamales.
Led by a Mexican chef, this class will guide you through the full process of making authentic tamales completely from scratch. You will learn how to prepare fresh masa, make flavourful fillings, wrap tamales using corn husks and steam them properly for light and fluffy results every time.
Tamales are deeply rooted in Mexican culture and are often prepared during celebrations, holidays and family gatherings. This class is designed to feel social, interactive and connected to tradition.
Throughout the class, you will also enjoy traditional hibiscus water, also known as Agua de Jamaica, a refreshing Mexican drink made from dried hibiscus flowers.
What you will learn:
• How to prepare tamal masa from scratch
• Traditional tamal wrapping techniques
• How to balance flavours in authentic Mexican fillings and sauces
• Steaming, storage and reheating techniques
After cooking, we will all sit down together to enjoy the meal family style.
Vegetarian options are available upon request.
Perfect for date nights, birthdays, food lovers, team outings or anyone wanting to experience authentic Mexican cooking in a welcoming and fun environment.
