Join us for our 2nd special Community Conversation hosted by Backpack Buddies—an evening centred on a topic we don’t often talk about, but one that can have a lasting and meaningful impact.
Because of your generosity, thousands of children across BC receive nourishing food each weekend. Lately, we have had some supporters reach out with thoughtful questions about planned giving—especially how to include a charitable gift in your will. It’s not always an easy subject to navigate, but it’s an important one, and we’re grateful to open the conversation together.
On May 28th, we invite you to an intimate and informative evening featuring a knowledgeable guest speaker, a lawyer and Associate from Volkenant, who will guide us through the basics of legacy giving and help demystify some of the most common questions. Whether this is something you’ve been considering for a while or you’re simply curious, this is a welcoming space to learn at your own pace.
This evening includes:
- A short, accessible introduction to planned giving and gifts in wills • Thoughtful answers to common questions from our community
- An open and respectful Q&A—ask as much or as little as you’d like
- Optional hands-on volunteering to pack food bags and a warehouse tour
- Refreshments and light snacks will be available
