Í smiðjunni kynnir leiðbeinandinn, Emma Shannon, leiðandi efni (conductive materials), mjúkar rafrásir og skapandi nálganir við saumaskap, smíði og tilraunir með textíltengda tækni.
Engin fyrri reynsla er nauðsynleg, vinnustofan er ætluð byrjendum og öllum sem hafa áhuga á textíl, list, hönnun eða STEAM. Að lokinni vinnustofunni munt þú hafa betri skilning á raftextílum og sjálfstraust til að hefja eigin tilraunir.
Emma Shannon er skosk textíllistakona og hönnuður búsett í Reykjavík. Verk hennar kanna mörk klæðanlegrar tækni og hefðbundins handverks. Með því að sameina verklega sköpun og nýja tækni sérhæfir hún sig í að skapa aðgengileg, þverfagleg rými sem hvetja til tilraunastarfs og framtíðarmiðaðra lausna fyrir sjálfbærni og skapandi samvinnu. Sem hluti af Endurtakk og samfélaginu á bakvið reddingarkaffi hefur áhersla hennar verið á skapandi endurnýtingu, viðgerðir og endurhugsun á staðbundnum textíl og fatnaði.

Do you want to combine electricity and textiles?
In this introduction to E-Textiles we will explore the basics of combining textiles with simple electronics. This hands-on session will introduce conductive materials, soft circuits and creative approaches to stitching, making and experimenting with fabric-based technology.
No prior experience with electronics is required — this workshop is designed for beginners and anyone interested in textiles, art, design or STEAM. By the end of the session, you’ll have a better understanding of e-textiles and the confidence to start experimenting on your own.
Emma Shannon is a Reykjavik based, Scottish Textile Artist and Designer whose work explores the intersection of wearable technology and traditional craft. By combining hands-on making with emerging technologies, she specialises in creating inclusive interdisciplinary spaces that foster experimentation and future-facing solutions for sustainability and creative collaboration. As a part of the Endurtakk collective and the repair cafe community her focus has been on the creative reuse, repair and reimagining of locally sourced textiles and clothing.
