Join us on a ski touring day tour for beginners where we take you down some of the best slopes on this classic ski touring mountain.
Móskarðshnúkar greater area has different aspects and there is more to it than only the normal route.
Many of you might have done some ski touring in this area but there is more to it than meets the eye. If conditions allow we will explore the north side or some of the steeper funnels on the south side.
A backcountry ski touring trip from Reykjavik where our expert guide will find the best decent and ski where all the good snow is!
We try to match the day’s objective to your skill level and the conditions we have at the moment.
If you are new to touring but have the off-piste ski skills, our guide will help you through the day, giving you tips and tricks on touring technique and off-piste skiing.
We will meet up at a gas station in Reykjavík or Mosó at 08:30 and car-pool from there.
Depending on the area we choose to ski, the drive takes about 45min before we head out for a day of ski touring. We skin into the mountainrange and enjoy a good day out. When we reach a highpoint, some well deserved ski turns on the way down will bring us back to our vehicle in the afternoon and we drive back to Reykjavík. We aim to be back at the car around 16:00 – 17:00.
