It's time to make another collaborative zine! Bring 20 copies of your pages ***(see requirements below)*** to contribute to the collaborative zine, and go home with your own copy of Grand Valley Zine Club's November edition!
Make anything that fits the prompt of "MACABRE" which means spooky, death-focused, decaying, disturbing, horrifying, etc. You can interpret that however you like and include any medium on your pages: writing, drawing, painting, collage, stickers, nonfiction, poetry... anything!
We will arrive at a downstairs meeting room of the public library on 5th and Grand at 3:00 and start stacking and stapling around 3:30. If you want to stay after we build the zines to craft, collage, or get started on your next zine with us, we'll have some materials; you can also bring your own.
If you have your own zines you'd like to give away or swap, feel free to bring those too. We want to get a thriving zine community going in the Grand Valley!
DON'T KNOW WHAT A ZINE IS? Post or comment in the Discussion here in the event, and we'll fill you in!
***ZINE PAGE SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS***
-The zine will consist of letter-sized (8.5"x11") printer paper.
-Fold the paper in half, and you get four zine pages: front, inside left, inside right, and back.
-Create anything you want on YOUR four pages; please note that due to varying pagination as pages are added and zines are created (stacked and stapled), your four pages may not appear "in order," so make sure each of your four pages can stand alone.
-Make 20 copies, front and back (don't copy the back of it upside down!) to bring to the zine party. -*- If you need help with printing, including a place to print, email hostess Savannah Ashmore at [email protected] -*-
-At the event, you will pick up one page from each participant, fold and staple your zine, and take it home--your own published work included!
-If you have questions, ask in the Discussion.
Invite all your arty/crafty/fun friends, and we'll see you there!
