On May 9, 2026, Author Lynda Drews will be at the Brown County Historical Society Hazelwood House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a book signing launch of: Disposable Wives: Murder and Menace in Green Bay's Rural Belgian Settlement. Parking is available on Eliza Street or in the Aldo Leopold parking lot. We hope to see you there for a book inspired by one of our "If Tombstones Could Talk" cemetery portrayals by Dennis Jacobs. Our BCHS director Christine Dunbar says this about Lynda's book: "A masterful job of archival detective work makes for a twisted and haunting true-murder mystery. Not just a chilling trail of dead bodies, this story grapples with themes of family betrayal and the rights and abuses of women. The reconstruction of the investigation, trial, and complex involvement of the Belgian community creates a vivid and captivating story."
