LUST FOR LIFE is back FEBRUARY 24TH and READY TO ROCK AWAY THE MONDAY MOPES in their brand new home, Lemon! Hosted, produced, & curated by Chicago burlesque besties Kitty Tornado & Greta-X, you don't want to miss this showcase that's a celebration of bodies and rock n' roll!

Lust for Life ( @lust4lifeburlyq ) was born in 2022 from a lifelong love for rock n’ roll and badass self-expression. Named after the iconic 1977 punk album / anthem of the same title by Iggy Pop, Kitty and Greta aim to bring a variety of rock-based burlesque and boylesque acts to Lemon with their co-curated line-ups against a soundtrack of timeless riffs! These badass babes hope to put on an evening that electrifies, delights, and celebrates TWO classically-rebellious forms of art TOGETHER AT ONCE: rock n’ roll music and burlesque striptease!

THE CREATORS

Kitty Tornado (she/her) first blew her way into burlesque when she moved from Michigan to Chicago in 2014 and performed throughout the Midwest until 2019. With a degree in theater production as a “behind the scenes bitch,” Kitty never imagined that she would love the stage time and getting naked for the masses! She loves burlesque most for its creativity and liberation. Kitty spent a few years on a performance hiatus, and traveled across Europe while living overseas in España before returning to Chicago and becoming the Co-Creator/Producer of Lust for Life. When not storming the stage, she ‘grams about travel and food, hides her secret identity in the corporate world and eats as many famous burgers as she possibly can. She’s the threat of the Midwest! @katinamarguerite

Greta-X (she/her) is a visual teaching artist, arts manager, and audiophile who first sank her crooked teeth into local burlesque in 2017. A “Learning Queen,” Greta holds two Master’s degrees and combines documentary photography, writing, and image-based research to create work about sex workers and burlesque entertainers. Bringing together her lifelong love of rock music, glitter, and glamorous gender-bending, she’s the smartest lass in the class – with the best ass! @ericamckeehen

THE PERFORMERS

Harley Go’Lightly (she/they) crawled her way into the Chicago drag, burlesque, and nightlife scene nearly a decade ago after a lifetime of being raised on a strict diet of punk rock, horror, John Waters films, and vintage sci-fi. She’s a dyke in the streets, a demon in the sheets, and a devil everywhere else. “The Tantalizing Terror!” (@iamharleygolightly)

Renée Ryder (she/her) is a walking embodiment of classic Afro nostalgia meets futurism, channeling Blaxploitation fantasy with elegance and unapologetic sensuality. She reimagines the past with a bold, contemporary edge, leaving audiences spellbound with every peel. Whether commanding the stage with slow-burning allure, or electrifying the crowd with raw magnetism, Renée Ryder is a vision of power, poise, and pure seduction. Rosemary Maybe (she/her) has been defiling stages worldwide for over ten years. Rosemary started her burlesque career performing in DIY art spaces, where she was able to experiment with different performance styles and taste levels. Her performance style ranges from sensual to grotesque to nerdy – but always in your face. International burlesque performing artist SharmonXO (she/they) is a distinguished ensemble member of the Body Confidence for Queens burlesque troupe based in Chicago, IL. This "Chocolate Goddess of Love" exudes sensuality and infuses excitement onto every stage she graces. Her diverse dance repertoire includes burlesque, go-go, hip hop, and contemporary flow. This toddler mom recently made history in the South African Baby Grand Burlesque Festival 2023 as the FIRST International Act in the Debutante Ball, and she is currently the reigning Queen MISS MARIJUANA CHICAGO 2024. Standing Room Luke (he/him) is a historian of Chicago drag and burlesque and a burlesque performer. Through his art and public history projects, he hopes to spread awareness of the deeper history of both artforms – as well as positive masculinity and vintage style with modern values. Alex the Axe (he/him) is a proud Puerto Rican who loves metal, comic books, and making sweet tune-age with his collection of guitars. He has been living in the diaspora for over a decade and is always on the hunt for friends who want to make music with him. When he isn’t reading about world history, punk, and politics, frying up some tasty tostones, or spinning records, you can find him slinging caffeine bevvies to the masses… @alexander.the.dave
