Join us for an exciting new cycle of screenings of contemporary Italian films in the spaces of our Institute! From September to December 2024 we will screen 8 films in Italian with English subtitles by the best contemporary directors.
The next appointment will be Monday 11 November 2024 at 6pm for the screening of: ‘Non è un paese per giovani’ (2017), directed by Giovanni Veronesi.
The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles and will be preceded by an analysis of the context and work of the director.

PLOT: Sandro and Luciano are in search of a better future. Sandro dreams of becoming a writer, while Luciano, a talented chef, feels the need to escape the precariousness of Italian life. They decide to move to Cuba. There they meet Nora, a girl with a dark past who will guide them into a fascinating and unpredictable world, leading them to confront their deepest fears and desires. A tale of friendship, dreams and disillusions that is worth living.
DIRECTOR: Giovanni Veronesi started his career writing scripts for directors such as Francesco Nuti, Leonardo Pieraccioni, Massimo Ceccherini and Carlo Verdone. He debuted as film director with Maramao in 1987, before reaching commercial success with What Will Happen to Us (2004). He is known for his Manual of Love romantic comedy trilogy: Manual of Love (2005), Manual of Love 2 (2007) and The Ages of Love (2011).
