About this Event
Luxart is a site specific Luminarium created by Alan Parkinson for Battersea Power Station—a meeting of monumental industrial architecture and the ephemeral cathedral of light that defines his work. Within these softly glowing chambers, light becomes a tactile presence, a companion for reflection, reverie, and quiet inspiration.
Visitor will step inside the Green Dome, a 6.5-metre-high chamber that offers a gentle threshold and a moment of calm before entering the sensory richness of Luxart. From the Radiant Red Tree, with its glowing trunk rising skyward, to the Blue Helix Dome, visitors are immersed in a dance of colour and sound, with patterns that evoke the beauty of stained glass and decorative arts.
Wander through the labyrinth of light, lean against the soft and colourful walls, or lie down on the floor to admire the high illuminated ceilings. An experience that invites all ageas to pause, explore and be mesmerized.
Age: Suitable for all ages. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult, with a minimum of 1 adult for up to 4 children.

We are committed to the continuous evolution of our Luminaria – refining their architectural functionality while deepening their role as vessels for the transformative power of light. To help sustain and grow this unique art form, we openly share our creative practice.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In Luxart, Parkinson deepens his lifelong exploration of how illumination can be captured, blended, and transformed within curved, translucent surfaces. The result is an environment that feels both intimate and radiant. Here, light is not simply cast; it is choreographed. It seems to bounce, pool, drift, and flow across the architecture, creating the uncanny sensation of moving through a liquid, living substance.
