Los Wembler’s de Iquitos:
I slutningen af tresserne besluttede den peruvianske skomager Solomon Sanchez sig for at samle sine fem sønner og starte et band. Bandet, Los Wembler's de Iquitos, spillede traditionelle rytmer, men på en helt ny måde. Nemlig tilsat elektriske, surf-agtige guitarer. Med denne hybridlyd står Los Wembler's de Iquitos bag store cumbia peruana-hits (også kendt som chicha), såsom “Sonido Amazonico” og “Danza del Petrolero”. Sange, som satte gang i en kulturel bevægelse – og stadig sætter gang i festen den dag i dag!
Flere af familien Sanchez’ medlemmer bor stadig i deres fødeby, Iquitos i Amazonas’ regnskov. Byen kan ikke tilgås via veje, man må flyve eller sejle, hvis man vil dertil. Det var også gennem radioen, at brødrene blev eksponeret for alverdens musikalske stilarter: Psykedelisk rock, såvel som colombiansk cumbia, braziliansk carimbo, ecuadoriansk San Juanitos og venezuleansk joropos fandt vej fra radioen og ind i familiebandet, der i dag også tæller børnebørn af Solomon Sanchez. I 2016 udgav brødrene for første gang i 25 år nyt materiale, nemlig EP’en ‘Ikaro del Amor’. Titlen på EP’en er hentet fra en magisk remse, som bliver brugt af shamaner fra Amazonas under ayahuasca-ceremonier. I 2019 fulgte de op med albummet “Vision del Ayahuasca”. Los Wembler's de Iquitos er mere psykedeliske og mere groovy, end de har været nogensinde før. Vi bøjer os for legenderne, og glæder os utroligt meget til, at de skal skabe en i fest på vores scene!

Den københavnske DJ er dybt forankret i de rytmer, der karaktererer hans colombianske arv og den hårde lyd, der er kommet ud af det sydlige London, hvor han er vokset op. I sine sets fletter han således afro-latinske toner sammen med UK bass music – et musikalsk udtryk for den kulturelle smeltedigel, han selv repræsenterer. Since the family band was formed in the late sixties, Los Wembler’s de Iquitos have been behind some of Peruvian cumbia’s greatest earworms. Dance until you drop at this concert night, where Los Wembler’s de Iquitos kick off the party and DJ Sound and Fury keeps it going with a mix of dancehall, jazz, dubstep, soul, reggaeton, and jungle.
Los Wembler’s de Iquitos:
In the late sixties, Peruvian shoemaker Solomon Sanchez decided to start a band with his five sons. The band played traditional rhythms — but in an entirely new way. That is, with electric, surf-inspired guitars. With this hybrid sound, Los Wembler's de Iquitos are behind major cumbia peruana hits (also known as chicha), such as “Sonido Amazonico” and “Danza del Petrolero”. Tropical-party-starter-songs that ignited a cultural movement – as well as dance floors today!
Members of the Sanchez’ still live in their hometown of Iquitos, deep in the Amazon rainforest. The city is inaccessible by road. Instead, you have to either fly or travel by boat to reach it. It was also through the radio that the brothers were first exposed to a wide range of musical styles: North American psychedelic rock, Colombian cumbia, Brazilian carimbó, Ecuadorian San Juanitos, and Venezuelan joropos all made their way through the airwaves and into the sound of the family band, that today counts grandchildren of Solomon Sanchez as well. In 2016, the brothers released new material for the first time in 25 years: the EP ‘Ikaro del Amor’. The title comes from a magical chant used by Amazonian shamans during ayahuasca ceremonies. In 2019, they followed up with the album “Vision del Ayahuasca”. Los Wembler's de Iquitos are more psychedelic and groovier than ever before. We bow down to the legends, and can’t wait for them to bring the party to our stage!

Sound and Fury is a shapeshifting presence in the Copenhagen music scene, blurring the lines between dancehall, jazz, dubstep, soul, reggaeton, and jungle. Firmly rooted in the rhythms of his Colombian heritage and the influences of his upbringing in the hard sonics of South London, his music intertwines Afro-Latin and UK bass music, embodying the vibrant fusion of cultures he represents.
