About this Event

London to Windsor Castle Sun 7th June 2026

Overview

Let's Get Together! Ride like Royalty, as we roll, and have fun like Kings and Kweens.

Where will we start:

The route starts at the entrance of Horniman’s Museum, London Road SE23 3PQ. And we will start at the meeting point for 7am. Please note this is a challenging ride. Please cancel your ticket in advance, if you are unable to attend.

The Route:

We will ride from Forest Hill will be via Dulwich/Brockwell Park/Dulwich Clapham Junction, along the Thames path through Wandsworth Park, into Putney and Upper Richmond before entering Richmond Park, via Priory Lane. We will take a breakfast break before going on to Windsor. We will meet quiet roads, and by ways, peddle through wide open routes, and we will meet lots of other cyclists on this ride. We will travel partway, along to Thames path for part of this journey and we will take several breaks along this route. The trip takes us to about 33/34 miles. We got this!!!

It’s our big ride before Brighton and by now, we should have been following a nutrition and exercise schedule of your choice for the main ride (which you should have already signed up for), on Sunday 21st June 2026. We will continue our ride to Windsor passing through Mortlake, over Kew Bridge, Osterley, Hatton Cross and Stains, before arriving at Windsor for well-earned rest and lunch at one of the restaurants. We will catch the Train back to London from Windsor or Datchet.

Who are we:

We ride as a group of people mainly from an African and African Caribbean background and as cyclists we ride together regularly, often with a structured schedule and varying levels of difficulty.

We aim to start when the weather is improving this could be as early as January or February. But sometimes it could be as late as March/April, with easier local rides to start the year off, and we increase the distance and go further afield, until November or December (if we are really lucky), and we have been riding together since November 2020.

Who is this ride for:

The ride is for adults only and this ride will br challenging.

NB: If you find that you are unable to attend after you have booked, please cancel your ticket at least 24 hours before the event, so that it can be offered to someone else.

If you would like to join the whatsapp group, please ask me on one of the rides, and be prepared to commit to at least 6 rides annually, to remain in the group.

What you should bring:

Your bike and helmet, appropriate attire for riding and weather conditions, and a smile.

We ride as a group, but please cycle carefully, and abide by the rules of the road. Your safety will be at your own discretion.

Please come prepared with inflatable tyre and/or pump.

Light fruits/snacks and water according to your preference. A travel card/cash.
