About this Event
London is a city of Capital and Labour; constantly in opposition, a state of tension in which Capital generally dominates and triumphs.
But always from below people strive to educate, agitate and organise. In the most difficult circumstances dockers organised unions, women fought for the vote, reformers demanded better housing, free education and health services.
All the time people seeking methods large and small of solidarity and union.
We will explore some history of the London working class, through forgotten back streets and lost histories. And from time to time within sight of the City of London. One of the most powerful financial institutions and centres of capital in the world.
Who has the power? Who can organise with most effect?
