About this Event
If IQ is intelligence quotient and EQ is emotional quotient, what is AQ? It is agility quotient, and Liz Tran says it’s the intelligence you need to handle change, uncertainty, and the unknown. Just like the old line says, that “the only certain thing is change,” our era is defined by nonstop disruptions, jobs vanishing overnight, industries evolving in months, and the rules we learned yesterday rendered useless today.
Leadership coach and former venture capitalist Liz Tran has drawn on her work with more than 200 founders, executives, and dozens of companies and organizations to produce her new book AQ: A New Kind of Intelligence for a World That's Always Changing. In it, she presents her model for how high-performing teams and managers adapt to uncertainty, and how you can cultivate “durable skills,” essential human abilities that remain valuable no matter what the uncertain future holds. She offers tools to rebuild confidence when you’re dodging life’s curveballs or feeling burned out; actionable steps for making a big shift; and advice about finding clarity in moments of professional turbulence.
Tran goes behind the scenes at companies ranging from NVIDIA and Microsoft to rising startups like Lex, to see AQ in action. Come to Commonwealth Club World Affairs to hear Tran for yourself and see if her AQ is something you need to add to your IQ.
