In honor of Earth Day, our April meetup will have a special theme.
Anna will offer a series of prompts on writing a 'georgic' or instructional poem, a poetic subgenre which reflects on our relationship with work and which celebrates the wisdom to be found in agricultural practice and manual labor of all kinds.
What can we learn from working the land, and from working with our hands? How does the planet and each season teach us about own natural cycles as individuals and societies? What instructions would you leave for the next generation?

Join us in this generative and supportive environment where poets, prose writers, and playwrights can engage in creative practice together. Practitioners of all genres welcome, whether you're a moonlighter or it's your vocation by day.
Cost of admission is one writing prompt.
Bring an exercise in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, or playwriting that can be done in 15 minutes. We will draw these prompts at random from a hat at the start of the session. If you feel it can act as a catalyst, feel free to accompany your prompt with a brief example of published writing.
We do not workshop any pieces. There will, however, be the chance to share what you've written as a result of the prompts.
