An afternoon of creativity and feminism inspired by our relationship to our bodiesAbout this Event
An afternoon of creativity and feminism
Creativity can be a powerful way of exploring our relationships with our bodies, taking time to think about what and how we want to represent them.
We will be doing some grounding and word association excercies to get us thinking, before moving on to lino printing with all tools, materials, and tuition provided.
We will also have some time at the end of the workshop to share any thoughts that have come up during the workshop, maybe about our relationships to our bodies, the workshop proces, or anything else.
Who can come?
This event is open to anyone with, or who wants to have a vulva. This is regardless of gender expression, sex expression, and sexuality.
Tickets
We have pay it forward, standard, and concession ticket prices. Please choose the price that works best for you - no questions will be asked but please be honest. We are only able to offer 4 concession tickets for this workshop, please keep this in mind when choosing.
Disclaimer
We understand that many people have difficult or traumatic experiences relating to their bodies and, while we can listen and be empathetic, none of us are trained in therapy or support work. Overall, the aim of this workshop is to create a welcoming, friendly environment for open discussion, rather than provide professional support.
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with us on [email protected]
About Our Project
This project is a response to every sexual partner who doesn’t listen, every GP who tells us it's nothing, every interruption from a colleague, every little comment about our bodies which teaches us to be small and silent. For people with vulvas, talking about our bodies is a radical act.
We want to see a world where there is no more stigma and shame around vulvas, where everyone learns about, understands, and can trust in their bodies.
We believe using community and creativity to share with and learn from others will allow us to build confidence. The confidence to speak openly, advocate for our needs, wants, and desires, and ultimately create the world we want to see.
